Four Ingredient Keto Hot Cocoa

Who doesn't love a warm cup of rich creamy hot cocoa? For most of us the very thought evokes childhood memories and makes us smile. Before I went back to school to study food and nutrition and before I understood how damaging to the body processed fake food is, I used to buy the powdered mix and even the one with the mini dried up marshmallows for my boys. Like most of us, I didn't know any better. But, thankfully, now I do!

So this is my clean keto take on Hot Cocoa without the nasty chemicals! Without loading up on sugar- the only sugar is one gram naturally occurring in the cream!

Don't think it is complicated and time-consuming to make clean keto cocoa from scratch. It doesn't really take much longer than boiling the water for the chemical-laden mixes you buy from the supermarket.

All you need is a pot and a whisk! That is literally ALL! So here is the recipe.

2 Cups Unsweetened Almond Milk

1/2 Cup Heavy Cream

1.5 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

1.5 tbsp Stevia

Thats all!

So first thing you want to do is mix the stevia and cocoa powder and set it aside.

Add the cream and almond milk to your pot and het slowly until close to a boil. Whisk in the cocoa and stevia mix until blended smooth. Try not to boil the mixture. Serve hot and you can top with whipped cream. Here are the nutrition facts for this rich creamy beauty.

Here are the nutrition facts for this beauty. Only 2 net carbs per serving and a nice amount of the good fats we need. When I tell you having this one time will make you NEVER WANT a mix again, I mean it for sure!

If you do not want yours quite as rich, you can use more almond milk and less cream. For a sweeter cocoa use more stevia and for less sweet use less. The same goes for the cocoa- you can adjust up or down to taste based on how chocolatey you want yours to be.

Be careful when buying your almond milk that you are getting unsweetened. The kids will not even realize this is sugar free and good for them!
